About this game
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe combines the courses of New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U. Run through each course and judge your jumps, playing alone or sharing the adventure locally. The Luigi course set puts a 100-count limit on reaching the end. Character choice changes the tools available for those jumps. Toadette can collect a Super Crown to become Peachette, gaining a double jump and the ability to float. Nabbit is protected from enemy and spike contact damage, while both characters stop more readily than Mario and Luigi. Up to four players can play together on one system, each using a single Joy-Con.
Collected in series
Super Mario is Nintendo’s platform-adventure series, first launched in 1985. Mario and his friends leap through the Mushroom Kingdom and beyond, exploring colorful worlds and tackling playful challenges. Mushrooms, coins, pipes and surprising power-ups make every adventure full of discoveries.

AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A flexible choice for platforming groups with different levels of confidence.
Peachette's extra aerial options and Nabbit's contact protection suggest useful ways to make the same courses more approachable. The included Luigi courses offer a contrasting time constraint for players who want to commit to quicker decisions.
Strengths
- Character-specific assistance can let players approach shared courses with different safety margins.
- The Luigi course set adds a distinct time-focused alternative to the other adventure.
Weaknesses
- Nabbit's contact protection may reduce the appeal of learning to avoid enemies for players who choose him.
Who it is for: Players who enjoy side-scrolling jumps, especially local groups that want different character abilities within the same adventure.
Play notes: Nabbit's protection described here concerns enemy and spike contact; it is not a guarantee against every course hazard.
