About this game

This edition combines Super Mario Bros. Wonder's side-scrolling adventure with Bellabel Park's added activities. Run and jump through the Flower Kingdom, where touching a Wonder Flower can bring pipes to life or turn your character into a giant Spike-Ball. The adventure also gains boss courses featuring the Koopalings. Bellabel Park gives you a choice between cooperating and competing in attractions. At the Toad Brigade training camp, objectives such as collecting every coin or finishing within a time limit provide another way to tackle courses, with completions raising your brigade rank. For the main adventure, optional Assist Mode prevents damage and returns you after falls without losing a life. Same-system play accommodates up to four players in TV or tabletop mode, with a controller for each person.

A flexible prospect for households that want course-based platforming alongside shared competitive and cooperative activities.

Wonder Flower transformations suggest an adventure that asks players to adapt to changing course rules, while Bellabel Park offers a separate reason to gather around the game. Training objectives and optional Assist Mode should suit different priorities: practicing specific tasks or reducing the consequences of mistakes.

Strengths

  • Course transformations can appeal to players who enjoy adapting their movement to unexpected situations.
  • Cooperative attractions, competitive activities and training tasks offer distinct goals for a group with different interests.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy side-scrolling movement challenges and groups interested in switching between working together and competing.

Play notes: Owners of the original Nintendo Switch game can purchase the upgrade pack; the edition described here requires Nintendo Switch 2 hardware.
