About this game
Mario and Luigi travel aboard Shipshape Island to reconnect the scattered land of Concordia. Sail along ocean currents, discover an island and launch the brothers there by cannon. Reaching its lighthouse advances the reconnection effort, while newly unlocked Bros. Moves expand how you explore. One move turns the pair into a ball that rolls through pipes and across quicksand. Battles combine turn-based decisions with timed button presses for stronger attacks and evasions. Battle Plugs add effects such as stronger offence or defence, but their limited uses require recharging. A single player handles both brothers, linking their field abilities and battle actions throughout the voyage.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
An appealing prospect for RPG players who want timing and coordinated actions woven into their decisions.
Timed attacks and evasions may keep players involved beyond choosing commands. The island-reconnection objective gives exploration a concrete destination, while limited-use Battle Plugs add a reason to consider when an effect matters most.
Strengths
- Traversal moves and lighthouse objectives connect new abilities to visible exploration goals.
- Rechargeable Battle Plugs can make the timing of equipment effects an engaging tactical consideration.
Weaknesses
- Players seeking combat based entirely on menu decisions may find the timing component less comfortable.
Who it is for: Players who enjoy turn-based planning alongside active button timing and a single-player adventure built around a duo.
Play notes: Both brothers are controlled by one player; the adventure is not a two-player cooperative game.
