About this game
This collection brings together FINAL FANTASY X and its sequel with remastered character, monster and environment graphics. In X, Tidus accompanies Yuna on her journey against Sin. Battles advance through commands, with the upcoming turn order visible as you decide what to do. Outside those decisions, activating Sphere Grid nodes develops the party's attributes and abilities. X-2 changes the structure: travel by airship to regional missions, subject to major story events, and fight through an Active Time Battle system. Changing dresses during combat changes a character's available abilities. The collection therefore moves from planning individual turns and character growth to managing battle timing and adjusting roles while revisiting Spira.
Collected in series
Final Fantasy is a role-playing series created by Square in 1987, built around fantastical journeys, memorable characters and growing stronger together. Most numbered entries introduce their own world and cast. From crystals and magic to cities where machinery meets fantasy, each adventure offers a different view.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A contrasting RPG pairing for players who enjoy both deliberate commands and changing battle roles.
Visible turn order and Sphere Grid development should appeal to players who like planning their party's next step. X-2 offers a different emphasis through real-time command timing and dress changes, so enjoying the collection depends partly on welcoming that shift.
Strengths
- Turn-order information gives planning-minded players a concrete basis for choosing commands.
- Dress changes offer room to experiment with combat roles.
Weaknesses
- Players attached to X's untimed command selection may find X-2's real-time battles a less comfortable fit.
Who it is for: Players interested in character development and contrasting command-based battle systems within the same setting.
Play notes: Switch edition saves cannot be used in the separate Switch 2 edition.
