About this game

Diablo II: Resurrected sends you after the Dark Wanderer through Sanctuary. Choose a class, activate its abilities in combat and gather the items left by defeated enemies. As your character levels up, you distribute attribute points and invest in skills whose requirements you meet. Between fights, decide which finds to carry back to town and sell. The base game includes Lord of Destruction alongside Diablo II. Rebuilt 3D graphics and remastered audio accompany that campaign. On Nintendo Switch, controller buttons directly activate assigned abilities, while directional targeting prioritizes nearby targets. Offline and online characters are separate: an offline character cannot join friends online.

9.2 / 10Nintendo Switch

A loot-and-character-building adventure for players who enjoy making decisions between battles.

Allocating level-up points and deciding what loot to keep give combat rewards a purpose beyond the next enemy. If planning a character is part of the attraction, these systems offer a stronger reason to engage than simply following the campaign.

Strengths

  • Skill investment and item selection can make successive fights feed a personal character plan.

Weaknesses

  • Taking finds back to vendors can interrupt forward movement for players who prefer uninterrupted combat.

Who it is for: Players drawn to class-based combat, deliberate skill investment and sorting the spoils of battle.

Play notes: Offline characters cannot join friends online; online play requires internet access, a Nintendo Account and Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Direct ability buttons may suit controller players, although directional target prioritization calls for a different approach from choosing an exact target with a cursor.
