About this game
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim puts you in the role of the Dragonborn as dragons return to threaten the region. Travel through towns, mountain country and ancient ruins, using weapons and spells to face opposition. An encountered story does not dictate your next destination: you can pursue it or carry on exploring elsewhere. Character development follows the skills you choose to strengthen. Alchemy, for example, lets you make potions, giving your growth a concrete purpose beyond following a story. The original Nintendo Switch package includes Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn, while Joy-Con motion controls let you swing weapons and aim a bow. Zelda equipment is also obtainable through exploration without an amiibo.

A strong fit for players who want to choose their own route through a fantasy adventure.
Choosing destinations and developing selected skills could make the journey feel personally directed. That freedom asks you to supply some of the momentum yourself, so its appeal depends on enjoying detours and character-building choices.
Strengths
- The freedom to follow an encountered story or move on can support exploration driven by curiosity.
- Skill development gives players a way to pursue a preferred character concept.
Weaknesses
- Players who want a tightly prescribed sequence may find the open choice of destinations less motivating.
Who it is for: Players interested in wandering through fantasy locations and shaping a character around chosen abilities.
