About this game
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker turns a small course into a puzzle to inspect from every side. Captain Toad cannot jump, so reaching a Power Star means finding a walkable route through the terrain. Rotate the viewpoint to understand the miniature space, avoid traps and use thrown turnips against enemies in your way. The adventure moves through ruins, volcanoes, haunted mansions and beaches, and includes miniature courses based on Super Mario Odyssey locations such as New Donk City. On Nintendo Switch, a partner can control another Toad in local co-op or provide pointer-based turnip assistance. The recurring challenge is to read the course's shape and turn that observation into a path forward.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
Observation-led treasure hunting for players who enjoy reasoning about small spaces.
Rotating a course while working without a jump can make route-finding the main source of satisfaction. Local character co-op and pointer assistance offer different ways for a partner to participate in that process.
Strengths
- Viewpoint rotation can turn an obscured route into a rewarding spatial discovery.
- Different partner roles may suit pairs who want different levels of direct character control.
Weaknesses
- The no-jump rule may feel restrictive to players who chiefly enjoy improvising around obstacles through movement.
Who it is for: Players who like spatial puzzles, miniature environments and discussing routes with a partner.
Play notes: Special Episode is separate paid downloadable content, beyond the base game covered here.
