About this game
Puyo Puyo Tetris pairs two different ways of clearing falling pieces. Connect four matching Puyos to pop them, or complete horizontal rows with Tetriminos. The crossover then changes how you manage those familiar rules: Swap moves between the two puzzles when the timer expires, while Fusion mixes both kinds of pieces in the same space. Fusion also lets a falling Tetrimino remove Garbage Puyos beneath it, making piece placement part of the interaction between the games. For solo play, Adventure wraps puzzle battles in a story about characters meeting in space, and Challenge provides another mode to tackle. Arcade competition supports up to four players, giving the same collection of puzzles a group-play setting.
Collected in series
Puyo Puyo Tetris brings two falling-block puzzle styles into one competitive series. Build chains of matching Puyos or clear lines with Tetriminos, then explore rules that pit the games against each other, switch between them or combine them on one board.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
Best suited to puzzle players curious about switching between two different kinds of planning.
Swap could make attention management as important as a good placement, because each timer changes the puzzle in front of you. Fusion offers a different challenge: understanding how the two piece types affect one another on a shared board.
Strengths
- Swap and Fusion give the crossover distinct strategic purposes rather than merely alternating its branding.
- Adventure, Challenge and group Arcade play offer different contexts for practising the rules.
Weaknesses
- Players interested in only one puzzle may find the mixed rules demand learning they do not want.
Who it is for: Players who enjoy adapting established puzzle habits and comparing approaches with friends.
Play notes: Familiarity with one puzzle alone will not cover everything asked by Swap and Fusion.
