About this game

Pokémon Legends: Arceus puts you to work on Hisui’s first Pokédex. Approach wild Pokémon through grass or behind rocks, line up a throw and try to catch them. Species react differently: some flee, while others attack. A successful capture starts an entry, but completing it requires further research tasks. Those tasks also raise your Galaxy Expedition Team rank and open access to new areas. In battle, agile style sacrifices power for the chance to act sooner; strong style makes the opposite trade. Between outings, base camps provide healing and item crafting. They also offer a place to regroup, since attacks and falls can leave your character unable to continue a survey.

8.4 / 10Nintendo Switch

A strong conceptual fit for collectors who want observation and hands-on catching to drive their adventure.

Aiming throws and adapting to Pokémon reactions can make collecting feel like fieldwork. Research-based progression rewards continued attention to each species, provided that revisiting familiar subjects is part of the appeal.

Strengths

  • Directly aiming captures gives observation a practical purpose.
  • The power-versus-action-order trade offers a reason to reconsider how to use a move.

Weaknesses

  • Players satisfied with one capture per species may find the additional research requirements less appealing.

Who it is for: Collectors who enjoy learning creature behavior and making progress through repeated investigation.

Play notes: Wild Pokémon attacks and falls can interrupt a survey; returning to camp is part of managing that risk.
