About this game
Psaro's curse prevents him from harming monsters, so his journey through Nadiria depends on the companions he recruits. You assemble a monster party and direct its battles, choosing between individual orders and tactics that let the creatures act for themselves. Synthesis turns two monsters into a stronger offspring, which can inherit parental skills. Your search for companions takes you through environments ranging from lava rivers to towers made of cake. Seasons and weather change the monsters that appear, while some locations become accessible only under particular conditions. Building your party therefore involves both choosing what to combine and exploring the fields under different conditions.
Collected in series
Dragon Quest builds fantasy journeys around visiting towns, exploring dungeons and growing stronger through battles. Its mainline adventures are known for turn-based decisions and heroic quests, while spin-offs take the same world of monsters and magic into other kinds of play.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A promising fit for players who enjoy building a monster lineage and adapting their collection plans to the world.
Synthesis can make each recruited monster part of a longer team-building project. Seasonal encounters and routes may encourage revisiting familiar fields with a different objective.
Strengths
- Combining monsters gives recruitment a purpose beyond simply expanding a collection.
Weaknesses
- Condition-dependent encounters may frustrate players who want to pursue any chosen monster immediately.
Who it is for: Players who enjoy experimenting with monster combinations and searching environments under changing conditions.
