About this game
Guide the hero across Alefgard, visiting settlements to gather information and using commands to talk, inspect places and handle items. Outside towns, monster encounters switch to battles where you choose attacks, spells, items or an attempt to flee. Victory earns experience and gold. Levels increase the hero’s abilities and can teach spells, while gold buys equipment and supplies. Spells spend MP, and inns restore health and magic, so deciding when to return to safety is part of reaching farther into the world.
Collected in series
Dragon Quest builds fantasy journeys around visiting towns, exploring dungeons and growing stronger through battles. Its mainline adventures are known for turn-based decisions and heroic quests, while spin-offs take the same world of monsters and magic into other kinds of play.
