About this game
DOOM Eternal sends the Slayer into a single-player campaign against the demons overrunning Earth. Shoot through enemy encounters while recovering supplies from the creatures you fight: Glory Kills restore health, damaging burning enemies releases armour, and Chainsaw kills replenish ammunition. Each recovery action serves a different resource. As the campaign develops, unlock weapon Mods that change how your guns work and switch between available Mods during play. Dash on the ground or in the air once the ability is unlocked, and search levels for hidden secrets. A metal score accompanies the campaign. The Nintendo Switch edition also offers optional motion aiming alongside the analogue sticks.
Collected in series
DOOM is id Software’s first-person shooter series about fighting demons with powerful weapons. Most entries favor constant movement and quick weapon changes, though DOOM 3 takes a slower, horror-focused approach. Later games make attacking part of survival, turning enemies into sources of health, armor and ammunition.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
An offensive resource loop for players who enjoy making supply decisions while fighting.
Separate attacks replenish different supplies, which can make choosing a recovery action as important as choosing a target. Unlockable weapon Mods and Dash add ways to approach encounters, favouring players who enjoy coordinating several tools.
Strengths
- Health, armour and ammunition recovery give attacks distinct tactical purposes.
- Changing weapon Mods can encourage experimenting with an expanding arsenal.
Weaknesses
- Managing separate recovery actions may distract players who prefer to concentrate on aiming alone.
Who it is for: Players interested in combining shooting, movement and resource management within the same encounter.
Play notes: The Ancient Gods campaigns are offered through an Expansion Pass or separate purchases.
