About this game
Bayonetta faces the Homunculi, man-made bioweapons, on a journey through locations including Tokyo and China's mountains. You fight with her weapons and dodge at the right moment to trigger Witch Time, slowing time to create an opening. Demon Masquerade adds attacks and abilities by channelling the demon linked to her weapon. Demon Slave changes who you control during a fight: summon an Infernal Demon and direct its actions, while remembering that Bayonetta remains vulnerable. These allies can also destroy obstacles during exploration. The journey includes playable Viola, who uses a sword and fights alongside Cheshire. Adjustable difficulty settings and a training mode provide ways to practise the combat.
Collected in series
Bayonetta follows a witch whose battles combine gunfire, close-range combos and demonic summons. Its main action games turn well-timed dodges into openings for stylish attacks, while an Origins spin-off explores her childhood through paired-character puzzles.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A promising fit for action players who enjoy combining precise timing with control of a larger battlefield presence.
Witch Time turns a well-timed defensive move into an offensive opportunity, while Demon Slave adds a separate layer of command. Bayonetta's exposure during a summon makes choosing when to use that power a meaningful consideration.
Strengths
- Timed dodges and controllable demons offer distinct ways to create attacking opportunities.
- Training and adjustable difficulty can support players who want to learn the combat through practice.
Weaknesses
- Players wanting uninterrupted control of Bayonetta may find commanding demons while protecting her an unwelcome division of attention.
Who it is for: Action fans interested in practising evasive timing, experimenting with transformations and managing summoned allies.
Play notes: Directing a demon leaves Bayonetta open to attack, so a summon still requires attention to her position.
