About this game
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition follows Shulk and his companions across the Bionis and Mechonis. Battles unfold in real time, with positioning and the order of your Arts shaping the encounter. Set up an enemy for a Topple, or respond to a Monado vision by choosing an ability that can prevent the danger it reveals. Between battles, develop the party through equipment, weapon skills and gems. Residents offer requests with rewards, giving you activities alongside the central adventure. Equipment appearance can be selected separately from its stats. This remaster also includes Future Connected, an additional story following Shulk and Melia after the main campaign.
Collected in series
Xenoblade Chronicles is a role-playing series of immense landscapes, close-knit parties and conflicts that reach beyond what its heroes first understand. You explore unfamiliar worlds and coordinate real-time battles through roles, positioning and Arts. Long journeys give the companions time to grow, while the scenery keeps suggesting another place to visit.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A promising fit for players who enjoy arranging party abilities around an unfolding battle.
Arts sequences and Monado warnings suggest combat built around preparation and timely intervention. Equipment growth and resident requests should also appeal to players who like developing a party between story encounters.
Strengths
- Ordered Arts give party coordination a concrete purpose: creating the opening for a Topple.
- Visions can turn an approaching threat into a decision about how to protect the party.
Who it is for: Players drawn to party development, positional combat and an adventure with optional resident requests.
Play notes: The added Future Connected story takes place after the main campaign; players concerned about narrative order should keep that relationship in mind.
