About this game
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds sends racers through courses spanning land, sea and air. Travel Rings move the action into different worlds during a race, while the final lap returns to the opening course with changed mechanisms. Driving therefore involves both following the route and responding to what the next lap brings. Before racing, equip gadgets that grant special abilities and alter your strategy. Grand Prix offers competitions against computer-controlled rivals, while Time Trials put the focus on driving against the clock. Grand Prix and Race Park also support local split-screen play, giving the same racing systems a shared-screen setting alongside the solo challenges.
Collected in series
Sonic the Hedgehog is SEGA’s action franchise starring its speedy blue hero. Running, jumping and learning the terrain connect adventures that range from side-scrolling courses to 3D stages and open islands, with different entries giving speed and exploration their own balance.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
Changing routes and gadget choices suit racers who like to keep adapting.
The return to a changed opening course could keep route knowledge useful without making each lap identical. Gadget abilities give players another way to approach races, particularly if experimenting matters as much as chasing a clean run.
Strengths
- Equipment choices can support different approaches to the same racing challenge.
- Local split-screen brings Grand Prix and Race Park into shared-screen sessions.
Weaknesses
- Lap-to-lap changes may interrupt the consistency sought by players who prefer an unchanging circuit.
Who it is for: Racing fans interested in changing courses, gadget combinations and local competition.
Play notes: The Season Pass and collaboration DLC are sold separately from the standard game.
