About this game

A boy becomes a demon as Tokyo changes into a world populated by demons. You explore this altered city and face its inhabitants, but fighting is only one way to handle an encounter: negotiation can turn an enemy into an ally. Those recruits become the foundations of your party. Fuse allied demons into new ones and pass learned skills into the resulting creatures. In battle, striking a weakness earns another action, while enemies benefit from the same rule. Party building therefore involves both offensive coverage and the weaknesses your opponents can exploit. Beyond combat, your actions and choices steer the story toward different endings as competing ideas for a new world emerge.

7.9 / 10Nintendo Switch

Best suited to players who enjoy making party composition part of every tactical decision.

For players interested in assembling complementary abilities, recruitment and skill inheritance give each new demon a purpose beyond collection. The shared weakness rule can make defensive planning as consequential as choosing an attack.

Strengths

  • Fusion and skill inheritance offer room to build allies around a particular battle plan.
  • Choice-dependent story branches give an interest in competing worldviews a role beyond combat.

Weaknesses

  • Players who prefer forgiving battles may find the enemy's extra actions from weakness hits demanding.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy planning ability coverage, reshaping a party and making consequential narrative choices.

Play notes: Enemies benefit from weakness hits too; the additional-action rule applies to both sides.
