About this game
RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is a PlayStation 5 adventure game centered on story, case, or mission progress, character and object interaction, and objective or clue progression. Locations, objectives, and clues gradually open the main chapters, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Theme, character expression, and environmental clues need to support exploration together, while SSD streaming, 4K and HDR output, 3D audio, performance or quality modes, and high-density interfaces need to preserve feedback and information clarity together. The genre-specific limitation is that guidance, objective triggers, camera behavior, or dense text can create search and comprehension costs. Platform conditions also include install size, SSD space, patch version, DualSense battery life, visual mode and frame rate, online dependencies, PS VR2 requirements, and cross-generation version differences affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.
Collected in series
Shin Megami Tensei is Atlus’s RPG series about supernatural upheaval and competing visions of the future. Demon negotiation and fusion shape your party, while exploration, difficult choices and weakness-based battles drive its mainline adventures.

A compelling rebuilt action RPG with some old structural drag.
RAIDOU Remastered is more than a sharper presentation of an older game. On the PS5 build, battles become full 3D arenas where sword attacks restore the resource used by two allied demons, weakness attacks create openings, and counters and shortcut moves keep the action moving. This finally lets demon building and moment-to-moment combat support one another. The unusual Taisho-era investigation, episodic structure, revised visuals and Shoji Meguro’s music preserve a memorable identity. Clear objective markers and combat shortcuts remove much of the old friction. The roughly thirty-hour main case moves well, although late backtracking and checklist-style optional quests still reveal its older structure; a few characters are also thinly drawn. It suits players interested in an eccentric demon-summoning action RPG more than those seeking intricate detective deduction or consistently strong side stories. The direct review ran the native PS5 edition on PS5 Pro, so this assessment makes no claim about frame-rate performance on a base PS5.
Strengths
- Action and demon tactics combine with a distinctive atmosphere.
Weaknesses
- Late backtracking, checklist quests and thin characters.
Who it is for: Players who enjoy demon building and action RPGs.
Play notes: The review used PS5 Pro; base-PS5 performance was not tested.
