About this game

Pick a Battle Pokémon and take direct control in arena combat. Field Phase lets you move around the arena, while Duel Phase shifts the fight onto a two-dimensional plane. Normal attacks, counters and grabs counter one another, so choosing an action also means anticipating what the opponent will attempt. Before a fight, choose your Support Pokémon; call for assistance when the Support Gauge fills. A charged Synergy Gauge enables Synergy Burst, temporarily strengthening your fighter and restoring some health. Each Battle Pokémon also has a distinctive Burst Attack. Ferrum League provides story progression through trainer battles, while Practice offers a place to rehearse. The base roster is available from the start, letting you explore fighters before settling on one to practice.

8.3 / 10Nintendo Switch

A Pokémon fighter for players who enjoy reading opponents and adapting their spacing.

The attack triangle can make anticipating a rival as important as selecting a move, while phase changes ask you to rethink positioning. An immediately available base roster and Practice mode may suit players who want to compare fighters before committing to one.

Strengths

  • Phase changes and the attack triangle can give positioning and opponent-reading different jobs within the same match.
  • Starting roster access and Practice can support deliberate character experimentation.

Weaknesses

  • Players wanting only traditional two-dimensional fighting may find the repeated movement-rule changes an extra adjustment.

Who it is for: Pokémon fans interested in direct fighting controls, or fighting-game players who enjoy adapting to changing movement rules.

Play notes: Support calls depend on a filled gauge, so they are a timed resource rather than assistance available whenever you want it.
