About this game

Choose your shots and your racket before taking on Mario and friends. Topspin, slices and lobs form the rallying toolkit, while sustained exchanges build the Fever Gauge. Equipped Fever Rackets add effects to special shots, including ice on the court. An incoming Fever Shot can be sent back before it lands, turning the opponent’s effect against them. Classic rules also let you play without Fever Rackets. Progress takes different forms across the modes. Adventure follows characters transformed into babies as they relearn tennis and overcome challenges. Trial Towers asks you to complete successive objectives on the way upward, while Tournament presents matches with Talking Flower commentary. Swing Mode provides another control approach: gently swing a Joy-Con 2 like a racket to hit shots.

7.9 / 10Nintendo Switch 2

For players who want rally tactics complicated by court-changing racket effects.

Returning a Fever Shot before it lands gives the special-shot exchange a counterplay decision, rather than making racket choice the only concern. If you enjoy switching between match tactics and discrete challenges, classic rules, Adventure and Trial Towers offer distinct ways to approach the tennis mechanics.

Strengths

  • Effect-bearing shots can reward attention to both rally timing and the opponent’s racket.
  • Classic rules provide a useful alternative when you want to concentrate on the rally itself.

Weaknesses

  • Under Fever rules, court effects add another concern that may distract players seeking conventional tennis exchanges.

Who it is for: Players interested in unusual tennis tactics, countering special shots and working through objective-based challenges.

Play notes: Online features require internet access, a Nintendo Account and Nintendo Switch Online membership.
