About this game
Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave follows a savior who returns to the past to gather allies against a threat destroying the world. There, four warriors pursue victory in the Heroic Games through their own stories. You can change protagonists between matches and develop their journeys in parallel; completing a warrior's story makes that warrior available to the savior's force. Battles alternate between your army's turns and the enemy's. Move units across the grid and consider weapon range when deciding where to attack. Before a match, a limited preparation period gives you time to strengthen your force. Recruit allies in Dagsion, develop characters' skills and pursue certification exams to change their classes. The choices extend beyond the next command on the battlefield: you also decide how to use preparation time and which protagonist's journey to advance next. The heroes can spend HP to use special Blaze Arts, so their remaining health belongs in your plan for each move. Joy-Con 2 mouse controls provide an alternative for moving units and checking information; you can switch between mouse and buttons.

Fire Emblem’s main tactical RPGs combine turn-based battles with the growth and relationships of a fantasy army. Choosing where each ally stands matters as much as deciding whom to train, and getting to know the cast gives those battlefield decisions a personal edge.

Nintendo Switch 2AI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A promising fit for players who enjoy planning a force as much as commanding it.
Limited preparation time and class certification could make the decisions before a match feel as consequential as positioning units during it. Parallel hero stories may also suit players who want control over which perspective to follow next.
Strengths
- Recruitment and class certification could let players shape a force around their preferred approach to battle.
- Switching between hero stories may make it easier to follow a newly interesting protagonist without abandoning the other paths.
Weaknesses
- Players seeking an uninterrupted sequence of battles may find the limited preparation period an additional layer of planning to manage.
Who it is for: Likely to suit players who enjoy character development, deliberate unit placement and choosing how to divide attention between several protagonists.
Play notes: Because a full Blaze Gauge halves a hero's maximum HP, players may need to weigh further use of that power against the hero's ability to survive.
