About this game
Travis and Badman are pulled into the Death Drive Mk II, a console whose games become worlds to fight through. You cut through Bugs with Travis’s Beam Katana or attack with Badman’s bat, then confront each game’s boss. The settings draw on styles such as battle-action and puzzle-action. You can equip up to four special skills. They spend a gauge that refills over time, adding choices alongside ordinary attacks: one skill creates a wall that stops enemies and projectiles while letting Travis pass. Adventure segments follow the search for Death Balls that unlock further worlds, using classic-game-style scenes and character conversations. Local cooperation lets two players join forces with one Joy-Con each.
Collected in series
No More Heroes follows Travis Touchdown, an otaku assassin whose beam katana and wrestling moves carry him through bizarre ranking battles. Outrageous opponents, odd jobs and irreverent humor give its action a personality all its own.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A fit for players drawn to skill-based brawling and a game-within-a-game setting.
Equipped skills and a regenerating gauge suggest room to shape encounters beyond basic melee attacks. The switch from boss-oriented action to conversational Death Ball hunts may appeal most to players who welcome changes of format.
Strengths
- Limited skill slots give loadout choices a purpose, with effects such as barriers changing how enemies can approach.
- Local cooperation offers a way to share the fighting rather than simply take turns.
Who it is for: Players interested in unconventional game settings, melee combat and local cooperative play.
Play notes: The digital base game is distinct from the Season Pass bundle; this overview covers the base adventure.
