About this game
No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle continues Travis Touchdown’s story through an action-focused revenge journey. Three years after the first game, he has fallen from the top of the assassin rankings and draws his beam katana again to avenge a friend and confront new opponents. Dialogue, music and exaggerated scenes frame that struggle. Combat retains katana attacks and wrestling while expanding weapon choices, including dual blades. Other characters take part in some chapters with different actions. Mission selection replaces the earlier game’s open-city commuting, while optional minigames provide activities between fights and let players approach the next stage through its selected objective.
Collected in series
No More Heroes follows Travis Touchdown, an otaku assassin whose beam katana and wrestling moves carry him through bizarre ranking battles. Outrageous opponents, odd jobs and irreverent humor give its action a personality all its own.

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle
A more direct route between confrontations keeps attention on the characters and fighting, with some disruptive detours along the way.
Removing the need to commute around a city changes what the player spends time anticipating. The next confrontation becomes a nearer goal, allowing the different opponents and weapons to carry more of the experience. That focus suits a game whose strongest appeal comes from personality expressed through action rather than the practicalities of moving between activities. A shorter journey is not automatically a thinner one, although the smaller amount of connective material makes the quality of each encounter more important. Temporary changes of character can refresh the fighting, while more conspicuous vehicle or novelty sequences are less consistent additions. The inspected Switch account reports optional motion controls and generally near-sixty-frame presentation with occasional busy-scene dips. Those dated observations support the accessibility of the conversion without establishing a current measured frame-rate guarantee. Its appeal rests on a concentrated sequence of extravagant confrontations.
Strengths
- Mission selection and varied weapons keep the campaign focused on its confrontations.
Weaknesses
- Some novelty and vehicle sequences interrupt the more consistent fighting.
Who it is for: Players who want eccentric action in a more concentrated campaign.
