About this game
Suikoden I&II HD Remaster brings together two RPGs built around gathering allies and commanding them in battle. Your party has front and rear rows, and weapon range determines where characters can attack from and which enemies they can reach. Recruitment also changes your castle headquarters, where some allies open shops or provide other services. Duels offer a different kind of decision: read the opponent's words, then choose whether to attack, defend or use a special attack. The remaster updates background illustrations and adds a conversation log. Battle fast-forward lets you alter combat speed, with the highest setting restricted by in-game conditions, while entering areas containing a save point creates an automatic save.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
An appealing structure for players who like tactical party building and collecting allies with a purpose.
A recruit can contribute to a battle formation or help develop headquarters, giving the growing cast practical relevance. The remaster's conversation log and battle-speed options could help players manage the journey without changing its command-based foundation.
Strengths
- Allies contribute beyond the active party through headquarters services.
- Range-based formation choices give recruitment a tactical context.
Who it is for: Players interested in expanding a roster, developing a base and choosing commands deliberately.
Play notes: The Switch 2 version is a separate purchase without an upgrade pass. Its saves cannot be transferred back into this Switch edition.
