Fight opponents while managing a shared Drive Gauge, or develop an avatar through World Tour. Modern controls simplify special moves, while spending the gauge recklessly can leave your fighter in Burnout.

About this game

Street Fighter 6 builds its combat around the Drive Gauge, a resource used for both attack and defence. Spending it opens tactical options, but exhausting it triggers Burnout and leaves your fighter vulnerable. Classic and Modern controls offer different input approaches; AI-assisted Dynamic controls are available only in certain Fighting Ground modes. World Tour provides a solo story in which you explore with an avatar and learn techniques from masters. The Nintendo Switch 2 version also adds local wireless one-on-one and avatar matches, alongside Joy-Con party modes such as Gyro Battle and Calorie Contest. This entry covers the base game; the additional character passes bundled with Years 1-2 Fighters Edition are separate content.

9.4 / 10Nintendo Switch 2

Suited to players who want resource decisions in their duels and a solo route into learning moves.

Using the same gauge for offence and defence creates a reason to weigh immediate pressure against later vulnerability. World Tour offers a separate learning context, while simplified inputs can help players focus on decisions before tackling more elaborate execution.

Strengths

  • Burnout gives aggressive gauge spending a clear consequence to plan around.
  • World Tour connects learning techniques with exploring as your own avatar.

Who it is for: Players interested in managing combat resources, with the option to learn techniques through a solo adventure.

Play notes: Dynamic controls cannot be used online. The additional content in Years 1-2 Fighters Edition is not included merely by owning the base game.
