About this game
An encounter with Ena and a mysterious Rathalos egg begins your journey as a Rider. You form bonds with monsters called Monsties, hatch eggs found on your travels and bring those companions into battle. Defeated monsters also provide materials for producing and upgrading your own weapons and armor. Battles revolve around choosing Power, Speed or Technical attacks to answer an enemy's fighting style. Match your Monstie's attack type to trigger a Double Attack and build the shared Kinship Gauge, then spend its charge on skills. Switching weapons during combat adds another decision alongside coordinating attacks and responding when an opponent changes strategy.
Collected in series

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A promising fit for players who enjoy coordinating monster partners and reading attack matchups.
Matching attacks gives companionship a tactical purpose, so players who like planning combinations may find the bond system especially appealing. Equipment upgrades provide a separate preparation goal between battles.
Strengths
- Double Attacks can make choosing a compatible action feel more consequential than selecting an attack in isolation.
- Material-based equipment upgrades give combat rewards a practical role in preparing the Rider.
Weaknesses
- Self-directed battle companions may feel restrictive if you want to choose every ally's action.
Who it is for: Players drawn to monster collecting, turn-based matchups and equipment preparation.
