About this game

Sorun's agreement with Death sends him into Siradon in this expanded action RPG. Fight with weapons such as scythes, bows and longswords, develop class talents, and combine classes to shape your approach to combat. Exploration also changes your capabilities: newly acquired movement and attack abilities grant access to further areas. Levels and bosses allow a nonlinear order, making route selection part of the adventure alongside character development. After defeating a boss, you can challenge its harder Heroic form, which brings new abilities to the encounter. Afterlife ties these optional rematches to an exploration structure in which new powers change where you can go.

8.3 / 10Nintendo Switch

A promising fit for players who enjoy developing a combat build while opening new routes.

Class combinations and weapon choices offer room to approach encounters on your own terms. Ability-gated exploration and optional Heroic rematches may particularly reward players who enjoy revisiting a challenge with a different plan.

Strengths

  • Movement upgrades can make character growth feel consequential beyond combat.
  • Heroic rematches give boss-focused players an optional reason to reconsider a defeated encounter.

Who it is for: Players drawn to nonlinear exploration, weapon experimentation and optional boss challenges.

Play notes: Heroic rematches introduce harder encounters and new boss abilities; they are a separate challenge unlocked after a victory.
