About this game
Torchlight II sends you through randomized areas to fight monsters and gather equipment. Choose a class, then develop its skills and equipment into a build of your own. Layouts, paths, enemies and loot vary, while outdoor areas move through rain, snow, day and night. Your pet has a practical role beyond accompanying you: it can fight at your side or travel to town to sell loot. Completing the campaign also opens New Game Plus, which restarts the adventure at a higher challenge while retaining your character's skills, gold and gear. Character development therefore continues beyond the first campaign completion.
Collected in series
Torchlight sends adventurers into a colorful fantasy world of monsters, equipment and ever-changing character builds. Fighting brings new loot, which opens another reason to adjust skills and head back out. The early main games also give you animal companions, adding a friendly presence to the dungeon crawl.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A promising fit for players who enjoy refining builds through repeated loot hunting.
Randomized routes and equipment give build-focused players reasons to reconsider their setup. Pet selling may help preserve the exploration rhythm, while New Game Plus offers a continuation for those attached to an established character.
Strengths
- Skills and equipment provide complementary ways to shape a build.
- Sending a pet to sell loot can reduce the need to interrupt an expedition yourself.
Who it is for: Players who enjoy experimenting with character builds and carrying their progress into a harder repeat campaign.
Play notes: Single-system play is solo; the listed local multiplayer option uses local wireless.
