About this game

Miitopia lets you decide who stars in a quest to recover faces stolen by the Dark Lord. Create Mii characters for the cast, customize their appearance with makeup and wigs, and assign jobs to your companions. Battles earn experience and raise their levels. You choose your own Mii's actions, while the other party members act independently. Between battles, arrange roommates at the inn or send characters on outings to develop friendships. Those bonds unlock assistance abilities in combat, making relationships part of how the party grows. A horse can also lend support in battle. The adventure develops through both character levels and the connections you nurture.

7.4 / 10Nintendo Switch

For players who would rather nurture a memorable cast than command every party action.

Casting familiar faces and growing their friendships can make party development feel personal. Because companions choose their own actions, the appeal leans towards shaping the group and watching relationships matter, with less direct control over each combat turn.

Strengths

  • Friendship-building connects downtime with useful battle assistance.
  • Casting and appearance tools let players give the adventure a personally meaningful ensemble.

Weaknesses

  • Independent companions may frustrate players who want to select every party member's action.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy character creation, relationship development and a party that partly acts on its own.
