About this game

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle sends Mario and Rabbids heroes to restore order to the Mushroom Kingdom. You control a team of three in turn-based battles, moving heroes, taking cover and firing their weapons. Equipment is another choice: select weapons for the heroes you bring into combat. The adventure passes through four worlds that combine battles with exploration. Away from fighting, you solve puzzles and search for chests and secrets, then return to combat with the same need to think about positioning and equipment. The crossover also brings Rabbids counterparts of familiar Mario characters into its colorful settings. Separate local cooperative challenges let you play with a friend, with difficulty choices for those challenges.

8.8 / 10Nintendo Switch

A likely match for players who want small-team tactical decisions alongside exploration and crossover humour.

Moving into cover and choosing equipment could make the small team engaging for players who like planning each hero's contribution. Puzzles and secrets give exploration a separate purpose, which may suit those who prefer their battles within an adventure rather than an uninterrupted sequence of fights.

Strengths

  • Cover and weapon choices could make a compact team appealing to players who enjoy deliberate preparation.
  • Puzzles, chests and secrets provide reasons to pay attention outside combat.

Weaknesses

  • Players seeking continuous tactical battles may find the exploration and puzzle portions interrupt their preferred focus.

Who it is for: Players interested in a Mario–Rabbids crossover who also enjoy positioning, equipment choices and puzzle exploration.

Play notes: The cooperative content described here consists of additional local challenges with their own difficulty choices.
