About this game

Place the gates around an indoor play space, then drive through them in order to register a circuit. You steer a real kart using the live view from its camera, turning the room itself into the setting for a race. Virtual environments and hazards decorate the route, and an item hit can bring the physical kart to a stop. Grand Prix races provide coins that unlock outfits, kart appearances and horns. Time Trial shifts the goal to improving a lap on your own layout, with players able to take turns using one kart. Rearranging the gates changes the course; the dedicated kart hardware and a level indoor surface are part of the setup.

Collected in series

Super Mario is Nintendo’s platform-adventure series, first launched in 1985. Mario and his friends leap through the Mushroom Kingdom and beyond, exploring colorful worlds and tackling playful challenges. Mushrooms, coins, pipes and surprising power-ups make every adventure full of discoveries.

8.1 / 10Nintendo Switch

A race-building toy for players who enjoy making the course as much as driving it.

Gate placement gives your room a role in the race, making layout experiments a potential source of enjoyment. The physical kart's response to virtual hits can make item exchanges feel tangible, provided you enjoy the practical setup.

Strengths

  • Changing the gate layout can turn familiar floor space into a new driving challenge.

Weaknesses

  • The indoor, level-surface requirement can restrict course ideas when usable floor space is limited.

Who it is for: Players interested in physical toys, homemade circuits and taking turns to improve lap times.

Play notes: Dedicated kart hardware is required; updated split-screen play needs two karts and two compatible controllers.
