About this game

Before an expedition, choose a class and deck. As the hero circles the route, place cards to add terrain, buildings and enemies, then equip the loot gained along the way. A village, for example, restores health whenever the hero passes through it. Resources gathered on expeditions fund upgrades to the survivors' camp. At the loop's camp, decide whether to return to base or continue around the route; defeat costs much of the material collected.

8.5 / 10Nintendo Switch

A fit for planners who enjoy shaping encounters around an automatically fighting hero.

Placing danger yourself can make survival feel tied to your decisions. Equipment changes and camp upgrades give players who enjoy preparation several ways to influence the expedition.

Strengths

  • Card placement can turn encounter planning into a source of personal responsibility.
  • Camp upgrades give gathered resources a purpose beyond the current expedition.

Weaknesses

  • Automatic combat may feel distant if directly executing attacks is your main interest.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy deck selection, equipment choices and deciding how much expedition risk to accept.

Play notes: Defeat removes much of the gathered material, so another circuit carries a resource tradeoff.
