About this game

Fire Emblem Warriors puts you directly into battles against groups of enemies. Chain attacks to clear a path and capture strongholds, then change heroes or redirect an ally as the battlefield situation develops. Weapon matchups influence combat: swords beat axes, axes beat lances and lances beat swords. Heroes can also pair into a cooperating front-and-rear formation. Story progress expands the playable roster, while gold and materials earned in battle go toward upgrading heroes and weapons. Characters bring their own attacks and voiced dialogue to the crossover. Alongside the story, History Mode revisits situations from earlier Fire Emblem games, giving the battlefield systems another setting in which to operate.

7.5 / 10Nintendo Switch

Best suited to players who want crowd combat with a reason to manage the wider battlefield.

Hero switching and movement orders could make success feel like coordination as well as execution. Weapon advantages give a concrete reason to reconsider who handles each encounter, rather than relying only on a favourite fighter.

Strengths

  • Orders and character switching offer complementary ways to respond to battlefield needs.
  • Story unlocks and resource upgrades could make building a preferred team rewarding.

Weaknesses

  • Managing allies alongside direct combat may interrupt the flow for players who only want to focus on one fighter.

Who it is for: Action players who enjoy choosing matchups, developing several heroes and directing allies during combat.

Play notes: Weapon advantages matter, so repeatedly sending the same hero against every opponent may be less effective than adjusting assignments.
