About this game

Control footballers through dribbling, passing, tackling and shooting, then choose between competition-oriented and offline-focused gameplay presets. Build a squad for Ultimate Team events, take on Manager Live Challenges or develop a player through Archetype attributes and perks. On Nintendo Switch 2, handheld touch controls cover menus and tactics, with pinch-to-zoom also supported. Local multiplayer can use the two Joy-Con 2 controllers separately. This edition can also host local GameShare for nearby Switch or Switch 2 guests, who play during that shared session. These features supplement the match, squad-building and Career activities rather than forming a separate campaign.

8.0 / 10Nintendo Switch 2

An appealing option for football fans who value local sharing and handheld interaction alongside Career or squad building.

The match and progression modes offer several ways to organise a football project, from squad events to player development. Split Joy-Con 2 play and local GameShare may make casual matches easier to arrange with nearby friends, while touch controls provide another route through handheld management tasks.

Strengths

  • Local GameShare and split Joy-Con 2 play provide concrete options for arranging nearby matches.
  • Career objectives and Archetype development support different interests beyond a single result.

Weaknesses

  • Friends playing on PC, PS5 or Xbox Series X|S cannot join through cross-play.

Who it is for: Football fans who want Career or squad progression and also expect to play local matches with friends.

Play notes: Local GameShare requires a Switch 2 host and guests can play only during the session. Online features require internet access, Nintendo Switch Online and a Nintendo Account.
