About this game

Take the role of Goku and other Z fighters as the story moves from the Saiyan saga to the Majin Buu saga. Battles use signature special techniques in environments that can be destroyed. Outside combat, fly across the fields, stop to fish and gather materials for meals that contribute to character growth. This set also includes both A New Power Awakens episodes. Goku and Vegeta train with Whis to unlock new powers, with battles against Beerus and Golden Frieza included in these episodes. The Trunks: The Warrior of Hope scenario is separately sold content.

Collected in series

Dragon Ball games turn the manga and anime’s battles into fighting games, character-building adventures and action RPGs. You might assemble a tag team, create your own fighter or revisit Goku’s journey between explosive encounters.

7.3 / 10Nintendo Switch

A character-focused retelling for Dragon Ball fans who want everyday activities alongside signature fights.

Linking meals to growth can give quieter field activities a purpose beyond sightseeing. For players invested in Goku's journey, moving between familiar story battles and Whis training may make progression feel tied to the characters' lives.

Strengths

  • Meals that support growth can make gathering materials feel relevant to the next fight.
  • Whis training and the included boss episodes offer a further progression focus for fans of the characters.

Weaknesses

  • Players primarily seeking an unfamiliar storyline may find less appeal in retracing established Dragon Ball Z arcs.

Who it is for: Fans who enjoy character growth, recognizable story events and time spent exploring between battles.

Play notes: The awakening episodes are included; Trunks: The Warrior of Hope is separate content.

Story arcs provide the main structure, while flight and fishing offer activities between fights; that variety may appeal more to fans of the journey than to players seeking uninterrupted combat.

The documented slow-motion feature offers an aid for players learning action controls, though its presence alone does not establish how easy they will find combat.
