About this game

Dr. Mario drops colored capsules into a bottle containing viruses. Rotate and place each capsule to form horizontal or vertical lines of matching colors. Four or more connected colors remove the matching capsules and viruses. The objective is to clear every virus from the bottle, so placement must work around the pieces already there. You can choose the starting virus level and falling speed, or compete against another player. The original game’s puzzle rests on this interaction between fixed targets and incoming pieces.

8.8 / 10Famicom / NES

For players who enjoy placing pieces around fixed targets.

The viruses give each placement a specific problem to solve rather than only an empty space to fill. Adjustable starting conditions let players choose the pressure they want to attempt.

Strengths

  • Matching is directed toward removing particular targets within the bottle.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy color matching and planning around an existing layout.
