About this game

Move Mario beneath falling characters and swap the trays he holds to rearrange the stacks. A character landing on the same kind disappears with its match, so you prepare the right stack before the next arrival. Egg halves offer a second way to clear space. Place a lower half beneath a pile and an upper half above it to hatch Yoshi and remove what lies between. Type A pursues score; Type B asks you to clear the field and advance. In either case, stacks must stay below the top line.

Collected in series

Yoshi’s games give Nintendo’s long-tongued companion room to lead, especially in platform adventures full of little discoveries. Flutter over a gap, swallow an enemy and aim an egg at something curious. Picture-book landscapes, yarn and cardboard change the scenery, while hidden paths and collectibles invite a second look beyond the goal.

8.2 / 10Famicom / NES

Stack swapping makes preparation more important than steering the falling piece.

Eggs let you turn an accumulating pile into a planned clear, giving unmatched characters a possible later use.

Strengths

  • The egg rule creates an alternative to pair matching.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy sorting stacks and setting up delayed clears.
