About this game
Move Vaus beneath a bouncing energy ball and send it back into the walls. Removing the walls completes the round; choosing the left or right exit then directs the next branch. Capsules alter the available tools, from a wider paddle and slower ball to lasers or an eight-ball split. The Famicom cartridge also includes an edit mode and VS play against the computer or another player. In VS, missed balls threaten the score blocks behind Vaus, changing the objective from clearing a formation to defending your own end.
Collected in series
Arkanoid is Taito's arcade brick-breaking series, built around steering the paddle-like spacecraft Vaus and keeping an energy ball in play. Reading rebounds, catching power-ups and clearing the remaining blocks give each screen its own little battle of timing.

Famicom / NESAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
For players who want route choices and alternate modes alongside paddle play.
Branching exits add a route decision to round completion. The editor and defensive VS objective provide different reasons to revisit the same ball-returning skill.
Strengths
- Round exits and separate modes give the central paddle action several contexts.
Who it is for: Players who enjoy ball control, branching routes and creating or competing on layouts.
