About this game

Arkanoid Plus! is a Wii puzzle game centered on puzzle, maze, or device solving, rule recognition, and spatial or logical judgment. Compact stages add conditions and tighter constraints over time, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make its immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Graphics, audio, touch, or pointer feedback need to support decisions directly, while standard-definition output, motion feedback, and interface scale at television distance need to preserve control readability. The genre-specific limitation is that limited explanations, input recognition, repetition, or abrupt difficulty can stall progress. Platform conditions also include the Sensor Bar, remote batteries, motion calibration, peripheral requirements, storage limits, and retired online services affect present-day use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features from other editions.

Reliable classic brick-breaking without dial-like Wii control.

Arkanoid Plus! on WiiWare keeps the familiar task of guiding a ball with a paddle, breaking blocks and catching laser, split-ball and other power-ups. The rules change little, but aiming rebounds and recovering a risky shot still give each short round decisions. Arcade mode branches through a pool of 61 possible stages while one route plays 31, and timed or two-player modes offer smaller sessions. Bright blocks and remixed arcade tunes preserve the series identity without establishing a striking new one. Contemporary Wii coverage directly tested Remote and Classic Controller directional input: it permits fine paddle adjustments but provides neither pointer control nor an analog rotary substitute. That makes play reliable, if less tactile than the original dial. It suits players who enjoy repeating levels for cleaner runs rather than those expecting a new design. WiiWare and downloadable-content descriptions are historical; current access is not guaranteed.

Strengths

  • Branching stages and extra modes support short replay.

Weaknesses

  • Modest presentation changes and no dial-like input.

Who it is for: Players keen on mastering rebounds and high scores.

Play notes: Historical WiiWare review; DLC access today unverified.
