About this game

Place falling Tetriminos to complete horizontal lines, keeping a piece in Hold when you want to save it for later. Line clears charge the Zone gauge. In supported modes, activating Zone stops time and the pieces' descent while you continue building up cleared lines, giving the familiar stacking rules another decision: when to use that pause. Journey carries this play through themed stages with graphics, music and sound effects that synchronize with your actions. You choose a difficulty before setting out. For a different objective, Connected mode brings a team together against AI bosses and merges their playfields so they can clear lines jointly. Offline Local Matches can use CPU players to fill missing places.

9.1 / 10Nintendo Switch

A strong design match for players who want tactical pauses and audiovisual feedback around familiar stacking.

Charging Zone through line clears creates a choice between using its pause to recover and saving it to build a larger clear. Journey's synchronized presentation and Connected's merged boards could appeal for different reasons: personal concentration or working toward a shared board objective.

Strengths

  • Zone could make planning its activation as engaging as choosing where the next piece lands.
  • Merged playfields may give cooperative players a more tangible shared task than simply comparing separate results.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy refining block placement, timing a stored resource and coordinating a cooperative puzzle objective.

Play notes: Multiplayer requires the latest game version; the publisher recommends checking the version on the title screen.
