About this game

LUMINES REMASTERED rebuilds the original Lumines as a music-driven block puzzle. Rotate and place square pieces composed of coloured blocks, arranging combinations for the sweeping bar to clear. That bar follows the music: faster tracks shorten the opportunity to build combinations, while slower ones can leave blocks waiting on the board. Rotations, drops and successful combinations also add sounds aligned with the beat. As you unlock skins, Shuffle mode lets you vary their order. Other modes change the immediate task: Time Attack asks you to clear blocks against the clock, while Puzzle mode uses the colours to construct pictures. The vibration menu provides a further choice over feedback from the rhythm and block-dropping actions.

8.6 / 10Nintendo Switch

Best matched to puzzle players who want music to shape their decisions.

The moving bar makes timing a combination as relevant as placing the next piece, which should reward attention to both board and soundtrack. Separate timed and picture-building tasks offer alternatives when you want a different puzzle objective.

Strengths

  • Music affects the clearing window, giving changes of track a practical role in planning.
  • Action-linked sound offers a way to participate in the soundtrack through ordinary puzzle moves.

Weaknesses

  • Players who prefer immediate clearing may find the wait for a slower musical sweep restrictive.

Who it is for: Players drawn to falling-block decisions, electronic music and adapting their plans to a changing tempo.
