We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie

Roll a growing katamari through objects to fulfill the King's fans' requests. Because oversized objects cannot be collected immediately, choosing what to gather first is central to each rolling route.

About this game

The Prince is back at work answering the wishes of the King's fans. You roll a katamari through the surroundings, gathering objects that attach to it and increase its size. Paper clips, living creatures and even buildings belong to its collection possibilities, but anything larger than the current ball must wait. The order in which you approach objects therefore determines what you can collect next. This remaster also adds Royal Reverie challenges starring the King as a child. Eternal Mode offers rolling without a time limit, while stage music selection and navigation indicators provide additional ways to organize a session. Offline cooperative and competitive play are available in parts of the game.

8.5 / 10Nintendo Switch

A distinctive prospect for players who enjoy turning object collection into a route-planning puzzle.

The size restriction could make an initially simple rolling action rewarding to plan, as each collection changes what becomes reachable next. Royal Reverie and untimed rolling offer different reasons to return to that central action, depending on whether you prefer directed challenges or less hurried play.

Strengths

  • Growing from small objects toward buildings could turn familiar scenery into a sequence of changing collection targets.
  • Eternal Mode may suit players who want to concentrate on rolling without a countdown.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy spatial planning, unusual scale changes and choosing music to accompany a rolling session.

Play notes: Two-player play is offline and available only in certain parts of the game.

Having to grow before collecting larger objects could reward noticing useful routes rather than steering toward the biggest object immediately.
