About this game
The King of All Cosmos has destroyed the stars, and the Prince must recreate them by rolling a katamari and gathering objects. Each attached object enlarges the ball, taking collection from small items such as paperclips toward cars and buildings. This remaster of the original Katamari Damacy uses analog-stick steering. With Joy-Con in tabletop mode, gyro input turns the katamari and shaking performs the Prince Dash. Shared Joy-Con also support local competitive play.
Collected in series
Katamari Damacy makes collecting things wonderfully absurd: roll a small ball over objects, grow larger, then gather things that once blocked your path. The Prince’s errands for the King of All Cosmos mix playful changes of scale with eccentric humor and music.

AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
An appealing premise for players drawn to object collecting and changing scale.
Turning accumulated objects into replacement stars gives collecting a comic purpose. If watching familiar objects change their place in the size hierarchy interests you, the growing katamari supplies a concrete focus.
Strengths
- Collecting progressively larger objects can make advancement easy to picture.
- Local competition offers another way to share the rolling activity.
Who it is for: Players who enjoy gathering objects, playful cosmic premises and stick-controlled movement.
Play notes: The gyro steering and shake-based dash described here use Joy-Con in tabletop mode.
