About this game
From a Smallfolk perspective, forests, swamps and ruins become an oversized wilderness to explore. Scavenge or refine resources, build an encampment and equip armour that supplies resistances and abilities. Your routes can change with your equipment and creatures: a tamed grasshopper carries you across large gaps, while winged armour lets you glide through the world. Weather and seasons introduce survival conditions, including lethal storms that call for different techniques. Alongside exploration and construction, narrative quests and encounters with NPCs reveal Smallfolk lore. You can undertake these activities alone or cooperate with friends online, sharing the work of exploring, fighting and building. Online play requires an internet connection and a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Nintendo Switch 2AI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A likely match for builders who want their home base to support expeditions into a threatening, oversized wilderness.
Resource gathering, camp construction and protective equipment may make preparation feel closely tied to the next expedition. Mounts and gliding add travel choices, while changing survival conditions can appeal to players who enjoy adapting their plans rather than only decorating a base.
Strengths
- Creature mounts and gliding equipment can make travel planning part of character development.
- Cooperative exploration and construction may give friends a shared purpose beyond fighting enemies.
Weaknesses
- Lethal weather and seasonal survival demands may interrupt the building-focused experience some players prefer.
Who it is for: Players interested in resource gathering, practical base building and expeditions whose preparation matters, either solo or with online friends.
Play notes: Cooperative online play requires an internet connection and a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership.
