Nobody Saves the World

Transform into different bodies, combine their abilities and complete form-specific quests in this action RPG. A knight with a rat's bite is one example of how customization crosses the boundaries between forms.

About this game

Nobody finds a magic wand and gains the ability to become other forms. Rather than settling into one fixed combat identity, you complete quests tied to those forms and unlock further transformations. Their abilities can be combined: a knight can borrow a rat's bite, giving you a concrete way to experiment with what a chosen body can do. The adventure takes you across an overworld into procedurally generated dungeons, including unusual settings such as a rotting pumpkin and a crashed UFO. Dungeon difficulty and complexity increase as you become stronger, linking further exploration with the development of your forms. On Switch, a friend can also join through local cooperative play on the same system.

8.3 / 10Nintendo Switch

A good design match for players who enjoy treating character builds as experiments rather than fixed identities.

Borrowing abilities between forms could make each new transformation useful beyond its own move set. Because quests lead to further forms, the appeal depends partly on enjoying directed experiments as well as combat itself.

Strengths

  • Cross-form ability combinations could reward trying an unfamiliar body without abandoning every ability you already like.
  • Form quests provide concrete prompts for players who enjoy discovering uses for different abilities.

Weaknesses

  • Quest-led form unlocking may feel restrictive if you prefer choosing a favorite build and developing it without prescribed objectives.

Who it is for: Players who like unusual ability combinations, changing character roles and exploring dungeons with a local partner.

Form quests and increasingly complex dungeons could give experimentation a continuing direction, provided you enjoy progression organized around objectives.

Giving a knight a rat's bite illustrates why the system could appeal to players who enjoy making deliberately unexpected builds.

A rotting pumpkin and a crashed UFO as dungeon locations could support an offbeat adventure rather than a uniform fantasy setting.
