About this game
A dragon has taken your heart, leaving you to pursue it as the Arisen. Your journey leads through the open world of Gransys, where griffins and cyclopes are part of the landscape. Combat includes climbing onto large creatures to attack at close range, while independently acting Pawns accompany you in battle. Character development centers on vocations, with the initial classes opening into a wider selection of fighting roles. Dark Arisen also includes the original adventure and the Bitterblack Isle expansion, whose equipment includes high-level weapons and armor. On Switch, recovery-item and lantern shortcuts provide direct access to those tools, and handheld players can open the map with a screen touch.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A promising fit for players who want to shape a combat role and tackle giant creatures with AI companions.
Climbing monsters could make positioning feel more physical than simply attacking from the ground, while vocations offer different ways to define your role. The included Bitterblack Isle gives equipment-focused players another setting to explore, without establishing how its difficulty will feel in practice.
Strengths
- Vocation development and monster climbing could reward experimenting with both your combat role and your position.
- The included Bitterblack Isle may appeal to players who want an additional area containing high-level equipment.
Who it is for: Players drawn to fantasy exploration, changing combat roles and a party whose companions act independently.
Play notes: This is a single-player adventure with AI-controlled Pawns.
