About this game

White has been brought from Hell to compete for a place in Heaven. Each stage asks you to eliminate its demons and reach the goal from a first-person viewpoint. Along the way, Soul Cards provide attacks, but discarding a card activates a movement ability instead. Their combinations open shortcuts for improving your completion time. The same stages also hide gifts. Giving these to other hunters and Heaven's residents opens interactions beyond the race itself. Your activities therefore include clearing stages, experimenting with card combinations to find faster routes, and searching for presents that bring you into contact with the surrounding cast.

9.3 / 10Nintendo Switch

For players who enjoy turning a completed route into a better one.

Cards connect shooting to movement, making their use a routing decision as well as an attack choice. Hidden gifts offer a separate reason to inspect stages when improving a time is no longer the immediate goal.

Strengths

  • A card's attack and movement uses create a clear resource tradeoff.
  • Gift hunting gives stage exploration a purpose beyond faster completion.

Weaknesses

  • The emphasis on improving routes may appeal less to players who dislike revisiting their decisions.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy first-person action, route experimentation and optional character interactions.

Play notes: Activating a card's movement ability requires discarding it.
