About this game
LIVE A LIVE is a role-playing remake built around stories with different heroes, eras and ways to play. Choose which of the seven starting stories to tackle first, finish one before moving on, or switch between them. Their emphasis changes: some concentrate on combat, while others foreground narrative and puzzles. In Edo Japan, for example, you can fight through opposition or pursue the mission through stealth. Battles take place on a grid. Techniques differ in reach and effect, and many powerful moves need longer to activate. Moving and attacking also advance the enemy's opportunity to act, so choosing a position is part of choosing an attack. HD-2D graphics combine pixel art with three-dimensional scenery across these separate adventures.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
An appealing structure for RPG players who welcome changing protagonists and tactical rules to consider.
The chapter selection gives you a way to follow whichever setting interests you, while shifting gameplay priorities can keep the anthology varied. Grid positioning and delayed techniques suggest a combat appeal centered on planning actions together, rather than choosing attacks in isolation.
Strengths
- The option to switch stories offers flexibility when another setting catches your interest.
- Attack areas and activation times create reasons to weigh position against immediate damage.
Weaknesses
- The changing protagonists and chapter emphases may suit players seeking continuity less well than those seeking variety.
Who it is for: RPG players interested in an anthology of eras and in battles shaped by positioning and timing.
Play notes: For demo-save transfers, install the update containing the version 1.0.1 ability-data fix.
