About this game

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning follows a resurrected warrior through a world divided by war. You explore places ranging from Rathir to the dungeons of Brigand Hall Caverns, tackle quests and build a character through your choice of skills, weapons and armor. In combat, magical attacks can be combined with melee strikes, with Fateshift attacks providing finishing blows. Character development centers on the Destiny system, which lets your class evolve with your play style. Alongside the main adventure are side quests involving politics, romance and magic. This release also includes the original The Teeth of Naros and Legend of Dead Kel content, plus Weapons and Armor bundles.

7.0 / 10Nintendo Switch

A promising fit for players who want to shape a fantasy fighter through both equipment choices and evolving classes.

Combining magic and melee should give character building a practical outlet in combat. The side quests offer reasons to step away from the main adventure, particularly for players who enjoy following a world's smaller stories.

Strengths

  • The Destiny system should appeal to players who enjoy developing a class around their preferred fighting style.
  • Combining spells and melee gives equipment and ability choices a shared combat purpose.

Who it is for: Players interested in character builds, mixed magical and physical combat, and fantasy quest exploration.
