About this game
Squall and his SeeD allies join Rinoa in resisting Galbadia. During battles, the Draw command extracts magic from monsters; choosing Stock keeps that magic for later use. Acquired Guardian Forces can also be junctioned as part of your party setup. The remaster updates character models and provides optional battle assistance, accelerated game speed, and a setting that disables random encounters. The speed option excludes some scenes, and switching off random encounters still leaves story event battles in place.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
For players curious about acquiring enemy magic and tailoring their route through a story RPG.
Draw and Stock give encounters a collection decision alongside combat. Guardian Force junctioning adds a party-setup choice. For readers more interested in the story, encounter and assistance options offer ways to reduce selected battle demands, while event battles remain.
Strengths
- Acquiring magic directly from monsters can give encounters a purpose beyond defeating an enemy.
- Optional assistance and encounter controls may suit players who want to prioritize the story.
Weaknesses
- Battle assistance may make combat less appealing to players who value pressure on HP and action-gauge management.
Who it is for: Players interested in magic collection, Guardian Force setup, or revisiting the story with adjustable battle demands.
Play notes: Turning off random encounters leaves story event battles enabled, and the speed boost does not apply to every scene.
