About this game
Cloud joins Avalanche against Shinra in Midgar, and you guide his party through the opening portion of the FINAL FANTASY VII remake project. Battles mix direct action with commands: open the menu to slow time and consider your next move, then make use of each character's specialty. Cloud fights at close range, Barret attacks from a distance, and Aerith specializes in magic. Equipping materia in weapons and armor gives access to abilities such as spells. Between story events, Cloud can accept jobs from Midgar residents and earn rewards. INTERGRADE also includes Yuffie's parallel adventure, FF7R EPISODE INTERmission. Optional Streamlined Progression assists, including unlimited HP and MP, can be toggled individually through the OPTIONS menu.

Nintendo Switch 2AI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A promising fit for players who want action combat with room to plan their commands.
The slowed command menu could make combat appealing if you enjoy alternating immediate action with deliberate decisions. Materia and different character specialties offer reasons to think about preparation, while the included Yuffie story adds another perspective on the same setting.
Strengths
- Slowing time for command selection could give tactical choices room to breathe during action combat.
- Materia-based abilities could reward players who enjoy preparing their party before a fight.
Weaknesses
- Players seeking the original game's entire journey in one release may find the Midgar-only narrative scope restrictive.
Who it is for: Players interested in party preparation, hybrid combat and following Cloud's Midgar story with an additional Yuffie perspective.
Play notes: This is the first installment of a multipart remake; INTERmission is included, but it does not make this the complete original story.
